"Bring your special Mom and join our staff for a leisurely wildflower hike and discover the many native spring blooming perennials that carpet the Chickadee Trail at Lynde Shores Conservation Area," says
Cathy Grant
, Education Instructor with Central Lake Ontario Conservation. "We will talk about the flowers names, some folklore, how to grow native plants in your own garden and provide you with some excellent photographic opportunities." The wildflower hike will start at 1:00 pm from the main parking lot, just off Victoria Street. Free parking passes will be provided for all participants. Participants are asked to dress for the weather, wear good sturdy footwear and bring along your cameras. At the conclusion of the walk, participants will be treated to an old fashion tea. After the tea, we will also be planting some wildflowers along the Chickadee Trail. Anyone wishing to assist us in the planting is asked to bring gardening gloves and a garden trowel.
