Groundwater Resource Inventory Program (GRIP)

In 2002, the Ontario Ministry of Northern Development and Mines (MNDM), through the Ontario Geological Survey (OGS) initiated a Groundwater Resource Inventory Program (GRIP) to complete regional 1:50,000 scale hydrogeological mapping. The Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority (CLOCA) was selected as one of the three pilot areas in the province for the GRIP project.

A technical report complete with approximately 60 maps was prepared and is currently publication by awaiting the MNDM. Following on the success of the pilot projects, the MNDM extended it’s funding to develop watershed-based mapping products for all the C.A.’s on the ORM under the YPDT/CAMC initiative. This work is currently in progress. For further information see Groundwater Resource Projects (GRPs)
