What type of wetland do you have on your property?

Within the Harmony-Farewell Iroquois Beach Wetland Complex, the prominent wetland types are Swamps and Marshes. Swamps account for 92% of the wetlands, while marshes cover 8% of the area.

Look at the images below to figure out what type of wetland you have on your property.

Swamps
Swamps contain predominantly trees. The swamps in the Harmony-Farewell Iroquois Beach Wetland complex often contain the following tree types:
Eastern White Cedar (Thuja occidentalis)

Marshes contain very few trees, and have tall grasses and cattails, some plants you may see if you have a marsh on your property are:
