This is a Summer Student Position. The aquatic monitoring assistant will be working on various projects in streams and wetlands located within the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority (CLOCA) jurisdiction.

This is a seasonal position, and you may be required to work all or some of the following dates: March 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30 during the annual Purple Woods Maple Syrup Festival. A mandatory half-day training and orientation session is planned for Saturday, March 1, 2025.

This is a seasonal contract from February 26th to April 9th, 2025, including weekends (approximately 6 weeks) and catering staff will be required to work all or some of the following dates: Twelve (12) Festival days (March 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30) plus additional 7 hours for initial kitchen setup. Twenty-two (22) Education days (March 3, 4, 5, 6, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 31, April 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9).

Under direct supervision of the GIS/System Supervisor and working alongside the Senior GIS Specialist, the GIS Assistant Technician is responsible for providing project-specific support for gathering and compiling spatial data, constructing, and maintaining geodatabases and associated metadata.
