Bird Count for Kids
Join us for our second annual “Bird Count for Kids”, inspired by the original annual Christmas Bird Count started in 1900 - North America’s longest-running community science event!

Time & Location
Nov 25, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Enniskillen Conservation Area, 7274 Holt Rd, Hampton, ON L0B 1J0, Canada
About the Event
We’re excited to introduce young bird fans to bird watching and bird counting for science. We’ll start with a short presentation on the importance of birds in our watershed, the purpose of the bird count, and tips on identifying different winter birds. You’ll even learn how to use binoculars! Then we’ll head outside in small groups for a hike to search for, identify, and record Enniskillen Conservation Area’s feathered friends.
Recorded results will be submitted online by CLOCA staff to Bird Studies Canada and reported to Nature Counts and eBird Canada, where they can be used in scientific research.
Given the nature of this event, pets are not allowed to attend. Please bring your own binoculars if you have them. A limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow.
