About the event
Garlic mustard is an edible herb native to Europe that is aggressively invasive in Ontario. It has a strong, distinct “garlicy” smell and taste. Not only does it outcompete native plants, but its roots release chemicals that prevent the growth of other plants.
Suggested age of 12 years old and up. Gloves and trowels will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own gloves if you like. Please wear light-coloured clothing if possible, long pants, long socks, closed-toed shoes and bug spray. Light refreshments will be served. No pets, please.
This event will run rain or shine. In the event of extreme weather predictions, you will be notified of event cancellation by email, 24 hours in advance.
