Cashiers (6 positions)
Seasonal (Purple Woods Maple Syrup Festival)
This is a seasonal position, and you may be required to work all or some of the following dates: March 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30 during the annual Purple Woods Maple Syrup Festival. A mandatory half-day training and orientation session is planned for Saturday, March 1, 2025.
The Cashier is responsible for working in various places at the Festival. Duties include scanning online tickets and collecting payment for products and services. Cashiers will be required to operate iPad software, count floats, print daily cash reports, process credit and Interac purchases, maintain knowledge of products and prices, check inventory, re-stock shelves, and provide excellent customer service. Cashiers will be required to set up and maintain their cashier station as part of daily and overall operations, contribute to general housekeeping duties and promote Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority as a lead agency in watershed protection and stewardship.
Cashiers will receive training in equipment operations, reporting protocols, and customer service as part of the half-day training and orientation session. They will also be required to complete a mandatory online health and safety and personnel training session. The position requires that the individual stand/sit in an indoor or outdoor setting that may or may not have an internal heat source. The space can be cold, so dressing warmly and in layers is highly advised.
Cashiers will report to the Executive/Accounting Administrator. The Festival hours of operation are 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Qualifications:
1) Excellent customer service and computer skills
2) Cashier experience is required
3) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
4) Ability to work alone or with a partner
5) Being fluent in English, a second language is an asset.
Wages and Benefits:
$16.20 - $17.20 per hour
